In May 2023, Chimelong Safari Park was recognized as one of the first “National Forest and Grassland Science Education Bases” by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration and the Ministry of Science and Technology. This recognition underscores Chimelong’s commitment to enhancing and protecting global biodiversity.

In September 2023, Chimelong’s research project on “Key Technologies and Applications for the Protection of World’s Rare Wild Animal Genetic Resources” was awarded the Special Prize at the Guangdong Science and Technology Progress Awards.

On September 16, 2023, Chimelong Spaceship began its trial operations, setting a remarkable seven Guinness World Records, including for the world’s highest seated capacity motion simulator, the world’s largest aquarium, the world’s largest aquarium tank, the world’s largest indoor artificial wave, the world’s largest indoor amusement park, the world’s largest living coral exhibit, and the world’s largest curved projection screen.

On September 23, 2023, the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) honored Su Zhigang, Chairman of Chimelong Group, with the title of “World Tourism Ambassador”

On November 4, 2023, the 7th China International Circus Festival kicked off at the Chimelong Theatre in Hengqin, Zhuhai. This marked the festival’s return after a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic, and celebrated the 10th anniversary of the event. The Circus Festival, under the theme “World Circus Gathering in Hengqin”, celebrated the exchange of Eastern and Western cultures. It brought together top circus troupes and renowned artists from around the world to perform a diverse array of acts, highlighting the dynamic intersection of circus arts across cultural exchange, tradition, and innovation. The festival aimed to establish itself as a premier international event, showcasing the best of global circus performance.

On November 15, 2023, at the 30th Thea Awards, presented by the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), “Bermuda Storm”, a simulator ride at Chimelong Spaceship in Hengqin, Zhuhai, won the prestigious Outstanding Achievement Award.

On June 30, 2022, Chimelong Group was once again honored with the annual “Guangdong Poverty Alleviation Kapok Cup Golden Award”.

On December 31, 2022, Chimelong Paradise in Guangzhou introduced the “Super Animal Mecha Parade”, featuring five new floats designed by Chimelong and manufactured by a renowned European float company. Inspired by ancient Chinese mythical creatures, the floats combine traditional design with modern technological elements, garnering widespread attention and praise from visitors.

In 2022, Guangzhou Chimelong Tourist Resort was included in the second batch of “National Nighttime Cultural and Tourism Consumption Hub” by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. In 2022, Chimelong Paradise in Guangzhou and Chimelong Ocean Kingdom in Zhuhai were both named “2022 Best Theme Parks in China” by the Institute for Theme Park Studies in China.

In 2022, Chimelong achieved remarkable success in animal and plant breeding, with 234 species and 8,576 rare wild animals successfully bred, including species such as the proboscis monkey, African elephant, and killer whale.

In 2022, after an 84-day upgrade, Chimelong International Circus in Guangzhou unveiled a brand-new, state-of-the-art giant ceiling, along with upgraded stage lighting, sound, and other technical facilities. The new performance effects were launched on December 31, 2022, offering visitors an entirely fresh viewing experience.

On October 12, 2022, five national standards co-developed by Guangdong Chimelong Group and the China Special Equipment Inspection and Research Institute were officially issued. These standards, covering topics such as basic safety requirements, emergency management, on-site safety checks, risk identification and assessment, and safety management systems for amusement parks, fill a significant gap in both domestic and international industry standards.

On July 30, 2022, Chimelong Ocean Kingdom in Zhuhai proudly launched its new project, the Super Mammoth Parade. Developed entirely in-house, the Super Mammoth is the largest and tallest rideable mammoth-themed mechanical device in the world. It was awarded the “Best Theme Park Entertainment Project of 2022”.

In May 2022, the Guangdong Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security approved the establishment of the “Guangdong Provincial Doctoral Workstation” at Chimelong Group.

On November 8, 2021, Guangzhou Chimelong Tourist Resort was awarded the title of “National Tourism Science and Technology Demonstration Park” by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. It was one of the first parks in the country to receive this honor and the first national-level tourism science and technology demonstration park in Guangdong Province.

On July 17, 2021, severe flooding caused by torrential rains in many parts of Henan Province triggered widespread devastation, deeply affecting millions. On July 22, Chairman Su Zhigang made a donation of 10 million yuan through the Guangdong Foundation for Poverty Alleviation to support flood relief efforts in Henan.

On June 30, 2021, At the Guangdong Poverty Alleviation Day event, part of the “Thousands of Enterprises Helping Thousands of Towns, Ten Thousand Enterprises Revitalizing Ten Thousand Villages” initiative, Chimelong Group pledged a donation of 50 million yuan to strengthen the achievements of poverty alleviation and contribute to rural revitalization efforts. Chimelong Group was once again awarded the “Guangdong Poverty Alleviation Kapok Cup Gold Award”, a recognition of the company’s active involvement in charitable and public welfare initiatives, particularly its commitment to poverty alleviation.

On January 30, 2021, Chimelong Spaceship Hotel officially opened its doors in a grand ceremony! With a total construction area of 160,000 square meters and a height exceeding 110 meters, the hotel features 1,250 ocean-themed rooms, seven unique themed restaurants, and a rooftop infinity pool. This immersive ocean-themed hotel combines scientific education, family-friendly experiences, and an extraordinary stay, adding yet another distinctive and captivating property to the Chimelong hotel collection in Zhuhai.

In December 2020, Chimelong Group was awarded the “National Advanced Collective in Science Education” title by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, and the China Association for Science and Technology.

In December, Chimelong Group was recognized as an “Outstanding Private Enterprise in the Fight Against COVID-19” by the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and Chimelong Guangzhou was honored as an “Outstanding Collective in Guangzhou’s Fight Against COVID-19”.

On December 28, 2020, Chimelong International Circus celebrated its 20th anniversary. The anniversary event, themed “Timeless Craftmanship, Eternal Classics”, was held at Chimelong International Circus in Guangzhou. Notable figures in the circus world, including Princess Stéphanie of Monaco and Urs Pilz, President of Federation Mondiale du Cirque, joined remotely to congratulate Chimelong on its two decades of achievements. The event received widespread media coverage from outlets such as IFENG.COM, Xinhua News, the Monte Carlo Circus Festival website, and German Circus Magazine, highlighting the grand occasion.

In 2020, the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) and consulting firm AECOM Economics released their annual rankings, with Chimelong Water Park in Guangzhou once again topping the list. In 2019, the park welcomed 3,014,000 visitors, marking its seventh consecutive year as the world's most visited water park from 2013 to 2019.

In December 2020, Chimelong also hosted the 2020 China Table Tennis Club Super League, themed “Ping Pong Unites the World, Stars Shine at Chimelong”. Through its strategic partnership with the Chinese Table Tennis Association (CTTA) and the success of the event, Chimelong made significant strides in exploring the integration of tourism and sports.

On October 20, 2020, Chimelong School of Guangdong Panyu Middle School, hailed as “the most beautiful school in the city”, was officially announced. The school will be designed by the team of Academician He Jingtang, with the vision of creating a new urban green valley and recreational learning park in the district. A signing ceremony was held between the Panyu District Education Bureau, Guangdong Panyu Middle School, and Chimelong Group, marking the establishment of a collaborative education framework agreement. This school represents Chimelong Group’s first investment in a “nine-year consistent education” system, combining both primary and secondary education.

On July 17, 2020, the “Welcome to Guangzhou – Cultural Tourism Revival for Industry Growth” series of events kicked off at the newly upgraded Super Performance Plaza in Chimelong Paradise. On September 12, the “Chimelong Guangzhou World Carnival – European Style Parade” was staged at Chimelong Paradise, featuring 12 grand floats, giant inflatables, and 138 top acrobats and dancers from around the world.

To revitalize Chimelong’s food culture and strengthen cost control within the Group’s restaurants, a comprehensive restructuring of catering management was carried out. This included refining the market positioning of the two resorts in Guangzhou and Zhuhai, defining five operational models and ten signature cuisines, standardizing food card management, enhancing centralized purchasing, and implementing cost-reduction measures. These initiatives were aimed at enhancing the quality and profitability of the Group’s catering service. On June 28, 2020, the Group’s funding and payment platform was fully launched. On November 2, the second phase of the ERP optimization project officially went live. Starting from November 24, all parks and the circus within the resorts began using ID card entry for park access. The launch of these new systems and platforms has laid a solid foundation for the Group’s digital transformation

In 2020, Chimelong Wildlife Park achieved significant success in animal breeding, with notable breakthroughs including the breeding of Komodo dragons, Aldabra giant tortoises, white-faced sakis, beavers, black pond turtles, wreathed hornbills, Raggiana birds of paradise, cassowaries, zebra sharks, and South China tigers. Among these achievements, the giant anteater twins born at Chimelong Safari Park marked the first successful birth of giant anteater twins in Asia, while two zebra sharks hatched at Chimelong Ocean Kingdom in Zhuhai became the first of their kind successfully bred in Guangdong Province. The Group established 12 research centers, including those focused on giant panda conservation and fish conservation, promoting scientific research and innovations in the conservation of rare wild animals and science education.

In February, Chimelong Group made a donation of 10 million yuan to Hubei Charity Federation to support Wuhan’s fight against COVID-19. The Group also launched a “Fight Against the Epidemic, Party Members Lead the Way” initiative, with over 80,000 yuan raised by employees to support the cause. On June 30, during the Poverty Alleviation Day of Guangdong Province, Chimelong Group pledge a donation of 50 million yuan to aid in the fight against poverty and contribute to rural revitalization. On August 2, the Group donated 30 million yuan to the Zhong Nanshan Medical Foundation of Guangdong Province to support health-related poverty alleviation projects and COVID-19 treatment research. Due to its exceptional contributions to the fight against COVID-19 and poverty alleviation, Chimelong Group was recognized with several honors, including the “2019 Guangdong Poverty Alleviation Kapok Cup Gold Award” and the “Charitable Enterprise with Outstanding Contribution” award.

On the afternoon of November 16, the opening ceremony of the 6th China International Circus Festival was held at Zhuhai Chimelong International Ocean Tourist Resort. The festival partnered with the renowned International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo, setting a new benchmark for circus festival collaborations.

On November 4, Chimelong Safari Park became a member of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA). WAZA is a global alliance dedicated to animal protection, including nearly 400 major institutions and organizations worldwide, with a focus on species conservation, animal welfare, and environmental education.

On October 16, At Guangzhou Chimelong International Exhibition Center, United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili and Chimelong Group Chairman Su Zhigang gathered with tourism officials from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and global representatives from industry, academia, and research to discuss the future of global tourism.

From October 10 to November 3, Chimelong Paradise Halloween Party saw its highest-ever attendance, with more than 700,000 visitors during the night events, setting a new record.

On July 26, the Chimelong Theater in Zhuhai debuted its original grand production, Dragon Show, kicking off a new era of international performances in the Greater Bay Area.

In April, Chimelong Hotel was honored with the 2019 TTG China Travel Awards as “Best Theme Hotel in China”, making it the only hotel in China to receive this prestigious award for 11 consecutive years.

On April 19, Zhuhai Chimelong hosted a press conference to unveil three major new projects that will help drive the development of Hengqin into an international leisure and tourism island.

On January 25, the construction of Chimelong Ocean Science Hotel, the second phase of the Zhuhai Chimelong project, was topped off.

On November 14, the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) announced the Brass Ring Awards. Chimelong Ocean Kingdom’s “Ocean Resistance” show won the prestigious “Best Live ‘Edutainment’ Show” award.

On April 29, Chimelong Water Park launched its first-ever night-time operation for the 2017 season, accompanied by the debut of the “Chimelong Water Electronic Music Festival”.

On July 1, Guangzhou Crocodile Park was rebranded as Chimelong Birds Park, expanding its theme park offerings.

In August, Dad, Where Are We Going? Season 2: Panda Triplets’ Fantasy Adventure, a 52-episode 3D animated series co-produced by Chimelong and Golden Eagle Cartoon, premiered to widespread acclaim.

On January 28, the Panda Triplets, featured in Kung Fu Panda 3, made their big screen debut, contributing to the film’s success with a box office revenue of over 1 billion yuan.

On November 11, the project of the National World Rare Plants and Animal Genetic Resource Base and Chimelong Qinyuan was officially launched.

On October 31, the “Chimelong Paradise Halloween Party” attracted over 100,000 visitors, setting a new single-day attendance record for Chimelong theme parks.

On February 19, Chimelong Penguin Hotel officially opened its doors to guests.

On February 12, Chimelong Circus Hotel, located within Zhuhai Chimelong Resort, celebrated its grand opening.

On December 21, Chimelong Safari Park partnered with Hunan TV to produce the Wonderful Friends, China’s first reality show featuring celebrities and animals.

On June 28, Hengqin Bay Water Park, located within Chimelong Hengqin Bay Hotel, opened to the public. It became the first hotel-based water park of its kind in China.

On March 29, Zhuhai Hengqin Chimelong International Ocean Resort officially opened.

From November 20 to December 1, the inaugural China International Circus Festival was held at the newly constructed Chimelong International Circus City in Zhuhai.

On August 6, Chimelong Group officially launched the “Guangzhou Chimelong Tourism Ecological City” project.

In 2004, Chimelong Safari Park launched a self-drive tour area, introducing a new way to observe free-roaming animals from the comfort of your car. Guangzhou Crocodile Park opened to the public. The park was home to over 100,000 crocodiles, representing more than 70% of the country’s total crocodile population at the time.

In 2001, Chimelong Group innovatively developed an animal-themed ecological hotel – Chimelong Hotel.
